Man arrested after trying to sell drugs to off-duty sheriff’s deputy

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Deputies with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office say two men have been arrested after one of them tried selling drugs to an off-duty sheriff’s deputy.

Deputies say 68-year-old Stevie Westerfield approached an off-duty deputy, not knowing it, and tried to sell him drugs at a local store off KY 638 near London.

Investigators say after investigation, 38-year-old Philip Henson was also arrested after deputies found Henson and Westerfield in possession of what they believe to be meth and marijuana.

They were arrested on multiple drug charges and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
