Man accused of driving more than 120 mph on I-75

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Mount Vernon police say a high-speed chase through a construction zone on I-75 reached speeds at 120 miles per hour.

Police say they tried to pull 49-year-old Mitchell Clontz over for speeding on Richmond Street in the city, but then he took off.

They say he rain through mud and a creek.

Police say they finally caught him after they tazed him. They say he was under the influence and had drugs on him.

He’s in jail facing two dozen charges.
