Man arrested in Floyd County for allegedly shooting brother in Knott County
PIPPA PASSES, Ky. (WTVQ) – AS 25-year-old man was arrested in Floyd County Saturday night on assault charges in conn3ctin with a shooting early Friday morning in Knott County.
On June 4, 2021, at approximately 3:02 a.m., Kentucky State Police, Post 13, Hazard, received a call that a man had been shot at a residence on KY-899, in the Pippa Passes community of Knott County.
Troopers responded and found 29-year-old Michael Adams, of Beaver, with a gunshot wound to his arm. Initial investigation indicates Adams had been into a verbal argument with his mother and his brother, 25-year-old Justin Harris, 25, of Beaver, shot him, the KSP said in a statement.
Harris left the scene and Adams’ was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Troopers were able to obtain arrest warrants through the Knott County Attorney’s Office for Harris. On June 4, 2021, at approximately 8:21 p.m., troopers found Harris in the Langley community of Floyd County.
Harris was charged with one count of first-degree assault and lodged into Kentucky River Regional Jail. This incident remains under investigation by Trooper Nathan Roark.
