Man Arrested In California In Kentucky Case From 1971
Media reported Lawrence Beck, 65, was arrested Tuesday in Los Angeles and faced extradition to Kentucky.
The case involved the 1971 death of 20-month old Michael Sanders, the son of Beck’s girlfriend.
Police said Beck took the boy to a doctor’s office on December 15, 1971, and said the child was ill.
Police said the child could not be revived.
Louisville Police Detective Brenda Wescott said testimony and scientific evidence led police to accuse Beck in one of the cold case unit’s oldest unsolved murder cases.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Diane Arnold said further details would be released after Beck returned to Kentucky and was arraigned.
