Man arrested in connection with Friday night shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting on Scottsdale Circle Friday night.

According to an arrest citation, Cory Wiggers, 38, told police he was around the Hollow Creek area, near Green Acres Park, to meet a friend.

Wiggers said he was parked near that friend’s car when another car came up and someone started shooting from it.

Wiggers told officers he pulled out his gun and shot back, until the other car drove towards a dead end on Scottsdale Circle, with another car following closely behind.

Then, Wiggers says the car started reversing back toward him.

According to police, he got out and fired shots in the air, before firing at the car.

In his citation, officers say Wiggers told them several times there were a lot of kids out playing on the street at the time of the incident.

Wiggers is charged with wanton endangerment.
