Man airlifted to hospital after hunting accident in Laurel Co.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Deputies with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office say they are investigating an accidental shooting that happened Thursday night.

Deputies say the shooting happened off Parman Road while  36-year-old man was hunting with other people. They say the man’s dog treed a coon and as he was trying to separate the two, the 22 rifle accidentally went off, hitting the man in the stomach.

The victim was airlifted to UK Hospital for treatment.
