Man accused of threatening to kill Franklin Co. officers

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Michigan man is under arrest in Franklin County after police say he made a call to 911 and threatened to kill officers.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says someone called dispatch on Wednesday at 2:42 p.m. about a burglary at an apartment at 120 Marlow Court in Frankfort.

The caller said two men kicked in a door in and went inside.

When officers got there, they say the apartment had been burglarized and there was graffiti spray painted on the wall. They say some of the graffiti made threats against local law enforcement.

Then, at around 11:20 p.m., a man called 911, yelling at the dispatch operator and making threats to kill police officers if they came to Hickory Hills Apartments.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says detectives tracked down the caller, 24-year-old Rueben Ruffin, at a hotel room at 711 E. Main Street in Frankfort.

Detectived say Ruffin is originally from Michigan.

He is charged with terroristic threatening. Authorities say he is a suspect in the burglary and vandalism of the apartment on Marlow Court.
