UPDATE: Man accused of punching deputy captured

MERCER COUNTY, Ky.(WTVQ) – A man accused of assaulting a sheriff’s deputy in Jessamine County has been caught.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office says Homer Estes was arrested at a home in Mercer County late Tuesday night.

Estes was wanted for allegedly punching a Jessamine County Sheriff’s deputy when the deputy showed up for a report of a domestic dispute.

After the alleged assault, the deputy says Estes escaped into some woods.

Estes is currently in the Jessamine County Detention Center.
