Man is accused of killing his aunt in Whitley County

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 58-year-old woman was found dead outside her Williamsburg home Friday morning.

Williamsburg police got a call around 8 a.m. about a domestic disturbance on Betty West Road.

When police arrived, they discovered Wanda Richardson dead in the yard.

Police say she looked like she had been beaten and it appeared she was trying to get away.

“She was a good person and didn’t deserve to die like she did,” said Latasha Thornton, family member.

Police say when they got to the scene, the suspect started running but didn’t make it far.

Police arrested 40-year-old Michael Lee Worley and have charged him with murder.

The family says Richardson was Worley’s aunt.

The Williamsburg police are investigating and Worley is being held at the Whitley County Detention Center.
