Man accused in Cave City murder to appear in court Monday

CAVE CITY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The man accused of killing a Barren County woman and stuffing her body in a container will appear in court Monday.

Kentucky State Police say 53-year-old Clark Smith, of Cave City, was arrested Friday.  He is accused of killing 22-year-old Kristen Edwards.

Troopers say she was found July 23rd by someone who was fishing in the Green River.

Investigators say Smith lived  next door to Edward’s grandmother, but have not released a possible motive in the killing.

Edwards had two children.
