Man accused of attacking people with machete at Transy sentenced Friday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- It’s seven and a half years in prison for the man who pleaded guilty to attacking people with a machete on the Transylvania University campus in April 2017.

The Lexington Herald-Leader says Mitchell William Adkins apologized today, during his sentencing.

Police say Adkins asked people for their political affiliations before attacking them.

In the past, he’d protest what he saw as mistreatment of conservatives.
