LPD: Woman injured during violent robbery; Juvenile arrested

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a woman was slightly injured and an innocent bystander dragged trying to stop the driver of a stolen car following a violent robbery.

Investigators say a juvenile with a gun approached a woman in a car on Hillside Drive around 4:00 p.m. Thursday.  Police say the suspect demanded everything the woman in the car had, hit her and stole her phone and car.

Police say a bystander tried to stop the suspect and ended up being dragged by the car.  Investigators say he wasn’t hurt.  Police say they found the stolen car and the suspect, who reportedly confessed to the crime.  Because the suspect is a juvenile, his name wasn’t released.
