LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say the weather contributed to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian Sunday morning.
The Lexington Police Department says the pedestrian was hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk on New Circle Road and Russell Cave Road around 4:30 a.m.
However, police say the crosswalk light was red and the pedestrian did not have the right of way.
Police also say it was raining heavily at the time and, because of that, the driver did not see the pedestrian.
No charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
The name of the pedestrian has not been released.
