LPD: Two accidents overnight, officer hit from behind

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say two non-injury vehicle accidents happened overnight in Lexington with one of those accidents involving an officer being hit from behind.

Authorities say a call came in around 1:00 a.m. Friday about a two-vehicle crash on Leestown Road and Boiling Springs Drive.

They say both drivers made it out safely without injuries, and both vehicles had to be towed away.

Police say around the same time, another crash happened on Loudon Avenue and Winchester Road.

They say an officer was driving when he was hit from behind by another vehicle.

Police say the officer made it out safely, and did not suffer any injuries.

They also say the vehicle was found abandoned on Third Street and Eastern Avenue shortly after.

Police say they are still looking for the driver.
