LPD: Teens burglarize store, lead police on chase
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Three teenagers are in trouble after police say they broke into a Lexington business then led officers on a high-speed, multi-county chase.
Police say the chase started after a burglary alarm at C&P Market on Manchester Street at around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Officers got to the store in time to see an SUV speeding away from the scene.
They started a pursuit that went through Lexington, part of Franklin and Woodford counties, and finally ending in Scott County.
Police say during the chase, officers could see things being thrown from the SUV.
They say the SUV finally went off the road on Frankfort Pike and inside, officers say were three teenagers.
All three were taken into custody and charged with burglary, and fleeing and evading.
They were released to their parents, according to police.
Police believe all three teenagers are from Scott County.
Police say they have no idea why the teens would come into Lexington and burglarize a small business.
They are also trying to determine what was taken from the store.
