LPD: Teen accused of driving around Lexington firing gun
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a teenager drove around the city on Memorial Day firing gunshots. Fortunately, no one was hit, according to investigators.
Police say they were initially called Monday afternoon about a disorderly man who reportedly fired a shot at a Speedway gas station on Paris Pike and then drove away.
Investigators say 19-year old Layne Chadwell then drove around firing gunshots into the air.
Police say an on-duty officer and his K-9 partner were nearby and found Chadwell trying to hide in his car on North Broadway.
He was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment, according to police.
He was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
