LPD: Photos show suspect in attempted robbery at Chuck E. Cheese

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington police put out photos Friday night in hopes of finding out if the same person is responsible for a recent robbery and attempted robbery.

They say Wednesday afternoon, there was an attempted robbery at Chuck E. Cheese on New Circle Road. Police say a man went in and asked for a job application. Investigators say he later returned to the restaurant, implied he had a firearm and demanded money. The manager reportedly told police he was able to convince the suspect to leave without taking anything.

And later that night, police were called to a Dollar General store on Bryan Station Road. They say a man, who may have been hiding in the store, approached workers after the store had closed for the night. Police say the suspect implied he had a weapon and demanded cash. Investigators say he took off with some money.

The police department says, “Based on witness statements and descriptions, investigators believe it is possible the two incidents are connected or they may involve two separate people.”

Anyone with information about the suspect(s) is asked to call police at (859) 258-3600.
