LPD: Parents arrested after drugs found in baby formula

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police have arrested a mother and father, after they say they found drugs hidden inside a can of their baby’s formula.

Police say Lemon Allen and Jamarra Burnside were arrested yesterday.

According to Lexington Police, they responded to a daycare back in June when staff members found a plastic bag of cocaine in a can of baby formula that belonged to Allen and Burnside’s child.

Police say they denied any knowledge of the drugs.

Police say they found a baby bottle in Allen’s car that appeared to contain a small amount of marijuana.

They say they searched Burnside’s apartment and found two more bottles containing serenity, also known as synthetic marijuana.

Police say they also found a bag that contained .38 caliber bullets.

Lexington Police say in July, Kentucky State Police confirmed that the plastic bag found in the baby formula contained three ounces of cocaine.

Both Allen and Burnside are charged with possession of controlled substance and wanton endangerment.

They are scheduled to appear in court today.
