LPD: New Details on bank robbery and arrest

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) –  Lexington Police say an 18-year-old has been charged in connection to a robbery at City National Bank last week.

Rahmeece Woods was picked up on Monday after tellers from a Nicholasville bank called police about three suspicious men, according to court documents.

Investigators say Woods was wearing clothing similar to what was seen in surveillance video from the City National Bank robbery; most notably silver athletic shoes.

Police took Woods into custody and court documents say he admitted to being involved in that robbery, along with two other suspects on May 10th.

One suspect stood by the front door, while another suspect who was wearing a ‘Captain America’ mask stood in the middle of the bank with a pistol.

A third suspect jumped over the counter and demanded money from the teller, then ran off after getting it, according to police.

Woods is charged with robbery and is scheduled to appear in court at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
