LPD: Man kidnaps woman to get to her boyfriend
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An arrest is made in connection to a kidnapping and shooting last year in Lexington.
Court documents say 36-year-old George Waide, along with another man, Aaron Long, kidnapped a woman at gunpoint at a shopping center off Russell Cave Road on November 17, 2015.
Documents say they forced her into a car and told her to call her boyfriend, Lamar Boyd, and arrange a meeting.
The victim says Waide and Long threatened to kill her if she didn’t.
Documents say it happened at around 11 a.m.
Then, just after 2 p.m., police were called to La Salle Road and found a man shot.
That man was Lamar Boyd.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Court documents say shortly after that, a second shooting victim, Aaron Long, was taken to the hospital in Waide’s car.
Waide admitted to police he was with both men at the time of the shooting.
Investigators say they located Waide’s car that had bullet holes in it.
Waide is charged with kidnapping and tampering with evidence.
