LPD: Man shot in groin in suspected drug deal

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police are trying to track down the person responsible for shooting a man Friday in Lexington.

Police were called around 3:15 a.m. to the Shell Station on Newtown Pike.

They arrived to find a man sitting in a car with a gunshot to his groin.

Police say the man was actually shot on Georgetown Street after getting into a struggle with the suspect.

He then drove himself to Newtown Pike.

Police say they believe this was drug-related.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
