LPD: Man fires at burglary suspects

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington police officer didn’t have to go far to respond to a shots fired call Thursday morning.

The Lexington Police Department says the officer was near Beverly Avenue around 4:19 a.m. when he heard gunshots. Around the same time, police say someone called in to say three men broke into his home on Beverly Avenue.

He says they demanded cash and ended up stealing a gun from him.

As they were leaving, the man says he grabbed another gun and fired several shots at their car.

He tells police he doesn’t know if any of the shots hit the car.

Police are still looking for the suspects.
