LPD: Man burned in house fire; “drug-making lab” found

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police are investigating a house fire on Woodbine Drive after they say a man was dropped off at St. Joseph Hospital with severe burns.

According to police, they were called to the hospital after the man showed up there with the burn injuries.  They say that’s when they learned about the fire in the home.  When they checked with arson investigators, officers say they discovered there was a "drug-making lab" in the basement of the home.

A narcotics unit is now at the home, along with arson investigators from the Fire Department.  A Hazmat team has also been called to the scene.

Due to the severity of the man’s burns, he was transferred to UK hospital.
