LPD looking for volunteers to help restore Cove Haven Cemetery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Police Department is looking for volunteers to help in a restoration project at Cove Haven Cemetery on Whitney Avenue.

The cemetery is the final resting place of 440 African American veterans.

Volunteers are needed starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, to clean headstones and remove debris.  Officers say they are also looking for a brick mason to help rebuild the entrance columns, as well as someone who can cut down three large dead oak trees.
