Suspect detained in latest Lexington shooting
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officers said they have arrested Michael Goode for a shooting that happened Wednesday on Armstrong Mill and Appian Way.
Police said a man got out of his car, walked up to the victim’s car, and fired a gun into the air then shot the victim in the shoulder. Officers said Goode then ran off, but was arrested shortly thereafter on Camelot Drive.
The victim was taken to UK hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to authorities the victim left when he found out detectives were on their way to interview him.
Police said Goode gave them permission to search his car. Inside the vehicle they found two weapons, neither of which was the weapon used in the shooting. Police said that gun was recovered in a creek bed.
