LPD investigating if early morning crimes are connected

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police are looking for two men they suspect may be involved in a string of robberies around Lexington.

Officers say they were called around 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday to the Speedway on Euclid Avenue.

Investigators say two armed men stole money and other items from the store.

Police say the suspects then hit another Speedway, this time in the 900 block of Winchester Road where they stole items.

The only description officers have of the two men is: wearing a hooded sweatshirt and masks. It’s a similar description to the suspects involved in an early morning shooting on Woodside Circle, a home burglary on Maggie Cove and the armed robbery of the Waffle House on Athens Boonsboro Road.

Investigators are checking surveillance video to see if the crimes might be connected.
