LPD investigate after Lexington Walmart receives bomb threat

Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington Police are investigating after a Walmart received a bomb threat.

LPD says the around 4 p.m. this afternoon, the Walmart on Russell Cave Road and New Circle Road received a call saying there was a bomb in the store.

Walmart then called the police and evacuated the store.

LPD says after arriving with a K9 unit, they searched the store but nothing was located.

Police say after about an hour and a half customers were allowed back inside.

LPD is continuing to investigate where the call came from.
