LPD: Father drunk when he picked up kids from school

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police say a man was driving drunk when he was involved in an accident with his three children in the car.

Court documents say an officer saw the accident happen on Monday then saw the driver leave the scene.

The officer pulled over the driver, identified as 41-year-old Eric Reed.

Documents say the officer saw three small children in the car and noticed Reed smelled of alcohol.

Reed told the officer he just picked up his children from school.

Court documents say Reed failed three field sobriety tests the officer administered at the scene.

Reed is charged with driving under the influence, wanton endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident.
