LPD: City truck takes down electric poles
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A driver was stuck in his truck for while after police say he took down some electric poles Friday morning.
According to the Lexington Police Department, the driver was in a Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government truck, picking up debris along Old Frankfort Pike between Phillips Lane and McConnell Springs, when the claw arm on the truck became entangled on some wires.
Police say the wires and two poles came down.
The wires landed around the truck.
Police say the driver stayed in the truck until it was determined there was no power going to the wires.
The accident caused power and phone outages in the area.
The roadway remains closed while the poles and lines are replaced.
