LPD: Child found wandering in Lexington, mother cited for endangerment

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Lexington have cited a mother after her 4-year-old son was found walking around outside in his pajamas.

Officers say they received the call about the boy around 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.  Police say he was found at a store on Winburn Dr.

Investigators were able to find the child’s home, but when they got there, that not only was the mother not present, but a 2-year-old was found alone in a crib.

Police say when they eventually found the mother, Kimberly Strejan, she told them that she had left the children in the care of neighbors while she took another child to school.

Officers say neighbors told them that was not the case.

Strejan was cited for endangering the welfare of a minor.
