Louisville to receive grant to improve transportation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Louisville will receive $17.3 million as a part of nationwide infrastructure grants to improve the safety and reliability of America’s bus systems.

The U.S. Department of Transportation made the announcement Monday.

The department says the funding supports efforts to replace, rehabilitate, and purchase buses and related equipment for the Transit Authority of River City, which provides public transportation in the Greater Louisville area.

Officials say project proposals were evaluated based on criteria outlined in the Notice of Funding Opportunity.
