Louisville brothers charged again in postal carrier shooting
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Two Louisville brothers are again facing charges in the shooting last year of a postal carrier.
The U.S. attorney’s office said 40-year-old Marcus Bennett and 38-year-old Eric Bennett are charged with conspiracy to murder and attempted murder of a federal employee.
The charges are in connection with the shooting of postal carrier Da’Ron Lester on Feb. 10, 2016. Lester survived the shooting.
A third defendant, Juliyah Young, is charged with the Bennetts with conspiracy to distribute heroin and marijuana.
Charges brought last year against the Bennetts in the case were dismissed after video surfaced that appeared to show them inside a courtroom around the time of the shooting.
Attorneys listed in court documents as representing the Bennetts didn’t immediately respond to email requests for comment Friday afternoon. Young’s attorney declined comment.
