Lou Anna Red Corn named Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fayette County
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Governor Matt Bevin on Thursday named Lou Anna Red Corn to replace the retiring Ray Larson as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fayette County. With that appointment, Red Corn becomes the first female Commonwealth’s Attorney for Fayette County.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma native is a member of the Osage Indian Nation.
She attended the University of Kentucky and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She earned her law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
She joined the Fayette Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in 1987. Most recently she was First Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney under Ray Larson.
As a prosecutor Red Corn has focused on child homicide, child sexual abuse and child exploitation.
