London man accused of stealing car, leading deputies on chase

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A London man was arrested without incident after leading deputies on a chase in a stolen car, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, deputies received a report of a stolen silver Cadillac from a home off Bullock Road, about a half-mile north of London.

During a patrol of the area, a deputy spotted the stolen car and tried to pull the driver over, but investigators say the driver took off at a high rate of speed.

Deputies say the chase continued onto KY 3434 and then onto Starr Hill Road, where the driver, 32-year old Landon Collins, stopped in the middle of the road and was arrested.

Investigators say in addition to the charges Collins faces in the stolen car and chase case, he was also wanted on four outstanding warrants.

He was taken to jail in London where deputies say Collins was charged with fleeing or evading police 2nd degree motor vehicle; wanton endangerment 2nd degree police officer is victim; reckless driving; speeding and receiving stolen property under $10,000.
