London-Laurel County added as 5th Kentucky Trail Town
LONDON, Ky. (AP) – London and Laurel County will soon be designated a Kentucky Trail Town, a boost to the area’s tourism efforts.
The Times-Tribune (http://bit.ly/1FXUHCP ) reports that a public ceremony will be held on July 8 to celebrate the community becoming the state’s fifth town to receive the designation.
London-Laurel County will be the largest Trail Town in the state.
First lady Jane Beshear is scheduled to attend the ceremony at the London-Laurel County Farmers’ Market, along with local officials.
Trail Towns are eligible for marketing dollars through the Kentucky Department of Travel and Tourism. They also are highlighted on state maps, visitor guides, Kentucky’s Adventure Tourism website and other state tourism marketing materials.
The other Kentucky Trail Towns are Olive Hill, Dawson Springs, Livingston and Morehead.
