Local church hosts Bevin for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A national day of recognition for law enforcement officers drew Kentucky governor Matt Bevin to a Lexington church.
The governor spoke in front of a crowd of officers and family members at Clays Mill Road Baptist Church, and also family members of Kentucky’s fallen officers. Organizers say around 600 people were there.
“My challenge to each and every one of you: Continue to perpetrate that respect that we have for law enforcement. Continue to be thankful, to be grateful,” says Bevin, who was also celebrating a birthday Saturday.
