Local church hosts ‘Back to School Bash’
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A local church, The Star of Bethlehem, hosted a ‘Back to School Blessed Bash’ on Saturday.
The bash began noon and lasted until 4 p.m.
The event offered free school supplies and food as well as a few raffles.
All supplies were donated for the event.
After just one hour, supplies were down to just two backpacks.
Jylan Ross, a coordinator of the event spoke about what it means to give back to the community.
“It means a lot to us, to have all of this gone in less than an hour it means a whole lot to us,” said Ross. “It means we did our job, we did god’s work because without god we are nothing and we can not do anything for the community.”
Ross hopes to continue the back to school blessed bash every year.
