List of repairs, needs keeps growing at Clark Co. Animal Shelter
WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – The list of repairs keeps growing and now the Clark County Animal Shelter is hoping the community will help.
First the furnace broke which caused pipes to bust and now the thermostat won’t move. All of this is on top of needed maintenance on the old building and taking care of the animals.
The shelter is home to about 30 dogs and cats.
The furnace was fixed but volunteers are spending their free time working on the pipes whenever the shelter finds the money to buy replacement parts. Shelter director Adreanna Wills says it’s a long process.
“Donations are really vital to our operation,” said Wills.
The unexpected emergencies have put a tighter grip on an already stretched budget. The shelter is in need of supplies and money. Wills says gift cards to places like Lowe’s and Tractor Supply Co. are best.
The shelter is also in need of bleach, cleaning supplies and non-clump kitty litter. Wills says they’ve received plenty of pet food donations and are now running out of places to store the food.
Monetary donations can be sent to: 5000 Ironworks Road, Winchester, KY 40391 or can be made by PayPal to firstname.lastname@example.org.
