Light drizzle possible Tuesday, more robust rain chances late week

Mild and spring-like conditions ahead

Tuesday starts mild in the mid-40s. By the afternoon, we reach the upper 50s with a few of us near 60. Winds will be breezy, with gusts up to 30 mph out of the south. This will bring some moisture into the Bluegrass, allowing for cloud cover to increase through the late morning, becoming overcast by the afternoon. Alongside the clouds, a chance for isolated drizzle will increase as well. Most of us will stay dry.

Cloud cover and drizzle/mist linger into the overnight. Temperatures drop to the low 40s, and winds turn out of the west.

Wednesday will be a bit cooler in the mid 50s. Clouds will clear throughout the day.

Warmer and wetter to end the week

Cloud cover increases through Thursday morning. Temperatures will reach the lower 60s thanks to gusty southern winds. Rain chances will be low through the evening, with a few showers popping up late.

Most of our rain chances arrive Thursday night as a line of showers pushes into the Bluegrass. Light to moderate rainfall is expected. This rain will be on and off through the day on Friday, with most of us staying wet through the day. Be sure to remember your umbrella.

Moving into Friday night, we’re watching for the possibility of some stronger storms to develop along a cold front moving through. Moderate to heavy rainfall will be expected in some areas. We’ll watch for the possibility of gusty winds and impacts. Confidence is still very low in this forecast, and as of now, any severe storms look to remain to the west.

This rain lingers into Saturday morning. By the time we dry up, we will see rainfall amounts around 1.5-2.0 inches.

Back to winter next week

Temperatures following the weekend cold front will drop, especially on Sunday, when we look to stay in the 30s. Next week, temperature trends show us staying near average for this time of the year, which is in the low 40s. We will likely be back to cold mornings and chilly afternoons.
