LHS: Nearly 30 cats dumped in parking lot

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Humane Society says nearly 30 cats were found abandoned on their property Thursday.

They say cats and kittens of all ages were found inside two boxes in a parking lot by an employee. They say the cats were wallowing in urine and feces. They also tell us that some of the cats were able to get out of the boxes and were found in nearby trees, bushes and storm drains. Those animals will be up for adoption on Sunday.
According to LHS, they are caring for these cats, along with over 400 other animals. They say their donations are currently down by 20% and that community support is critical at this time. To donate click here.

The Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control is investigating.
