LG&E and KU giving campaign generates $2 million

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- This is the first time the “giving” campaign has raised a record-setting $2 million dollars in its 13 year history.

Employees of LG&E and KU raised this money through their voluntary giving campaign, Power of One.

Almost 70% of LG&E and KU employees participated in the campaign via payroll deductions.

The money is being used to help area non-profits in 2018 including United Way of the Bluegrass and 27 other groups across the KU service territory, which extends from Paducah, Ky. to Abingdon, Va.

The United Way of the Bluegrass serves Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Jessamine, Madison, Montgomery, Scott, and Woodford counties along with their affiliates.

The employee-driven campaign has raised more than $21 million since 2005.
