Lextran to run extended schedule on July 4th

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Getting around Lexington on Independence Day will be a snap thanks to an extended Lextran schedule.

Transit Authority in Lexington says that Monday’s schedule will run the same as a Sunday schedule, will the last pull-out from Transit Center happening at 11:20 p.m.

From 6:20 a.m. to 12:10 p.m., buses will load and depart from the high St. side of the Transit Center.

Many routes will operate on detour in the downtown area due to street closures for the Bluegrass 10K race.  You can learn more about the detours by clicking here.

If you are planning on going to the fireworks display at Commonwealth Stadium, Lextran says that buses to the stadium will depart the Transit Center at 8:30 p.m. and that service will be available after the show is over.  Fare is $1 dollar each way.

Lextran customer service agents will be available at the Transit Center from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
