Lexington’s recycling center reopens
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington’s recycling center has reopened after temporarily shutting down because of equipment failure.
The facility closed Thursday after a gearbox motor on its main conveyor belt broke.
The broken gearbox motor was repaired.
The facility asks people to make sure all recyclable materials they send are dry to help prevent future mechanical issues.
Lexington’s recycle center only accepts dry cardboard, aluminum and steel cans, plastic bottles and jugs with a screwtop neck, mixed paper and glass bottles and jars.
