Lexington singer wins Pigeon Forge talent competition
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington’s Grayson Thurman won the grand championship for the 2019 Pigeon Forge Path To Fame talent competition. Thurman competed against 13 other performers at the Smoky Mountain Opry theater on June 22.
“Music’s always been a very important part of my life. I grew up listening to a lot of classic rock, motown, soul, country, kind of all across the board really,” said Thurman.
Thurman started singing as a freshman in high school. He says he found out about the competition from a Facebook post and decided to attend an audition in Lexington.
And the competition has opened other doors for Thurman, “Recently, I’ve been invited to sing at a variety of events like singing the national anthem for the kickoff of the boys sweet 16 basketball tournament at Rupp Arena.”

The competition is sponsored by the Pigeon Forge Tourism Department.
