Lexington Public Library Sets Milestone Mark

In the fiscal year that just ended, more than three million items were checked out of the Lexington Public Library, which was the highest total in the history of the library, according to library officials.

The total reflected a seven-percent increase over last year.

Sixty-one percent of the items that were checked out were books, with that figure split among adults and children, according to the library.

Most of the rest of the items that were checked out were electronic, such as movies, CD’s and audio books.
