Lexington priest releases sequel motivational book

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – One Lexington priest is spreading God’s message through more than mass and church services. Father Jim Sichko has released his second book called “Encountering God”.

Father Sichko says he travels worldwide 350 days out of a year. He says the book foreword was not only written by his bishop but Delta Airlines CEO Ed Bastian, and the afterword by Olivia Newton-John, who Sichko met on one of his flights.

After releasing his first book “Among Friends: Stories from the Journey”, Sichko says many people asked him when he would be writing a second, so the new book is a sequel to his first.

“It’s a combination of new stories and motivational and really sharing how we can find good people everywhere,” says Sichko.

While the stories in his second book take place over 4 years, Sichko says “Encountering God” only took him about a year to put together.

“I encountered the real face of Jesus through individuals that probably you would least expect,” says Sichko. “We have to be willing to allow God to reveal Himself in the ordinary.”

At a time when many question the good left in the world, Sichko shows it’s still here and flourishing with stories of kindness that have changed lives for the better.

“If you have a heart, if you have an openness then I bet you’ve had some of these experiences or at least can relate to them,” says Sichko.

He says the book is an easy read and is for people of all ages. To order now “Encountering God”, visit frjims.com or place a pre-order on Amazon and at all major bookstores.
