Lexington Police wrangle chickens after early-morning crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington Police spent hours working to clean up after an early-morning semi crash Tuesday left chickens roaming the streets.

According to police, around 1 a.m., a semi-truck was traveling on North Broadway toward New Circle Road when it hit a railroad bridge. Police say the trailer was too tall, causing it to hit the bottom of the bridge. They say the bridge appears to be okay, but the trailer was damaged.

Police say the semi was carrying chickens. Animal control assisted in gathering the animals.

The road reopened just before 5 a.m.
