Lexington Police make arrest in deadly shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette Co. coroner has released the identity of the Greenleaf Drive shooting victim.

He says 29-year-old Austin Murphy died after being shot on Monday.

According to authorities, they were dispatched to a disorder with a weapon just before 5 p.m. on Monday.

When they arrived, investigators say they found Murphy located outside a home on Greenleaf Drive.

They say he was dead from a gunshot wound.

Lexington Police arrested and charged 65-year-old Curtis Flora, of Lexington, with murder. 

According to police, he was Murphy’s neighbor and told investigators he was the shooter.  Flora also told police he had been in an ongoing dispute with the victim.

He pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday. His next court date is on Aug. 7th.
