Lexington Police investigate overnight armed robbery and attempted
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington Police confirmed an attempted armed robbery and another robbery took place early Saturday morning.
Police say the first incident happened around 4:30 a.m. at the Marathon gas station in the 1400 Block of Versailles Road. The suspect took a victim’s phone and money, according to police.
The attempted armed robbery took place at a Shell gas station on the corner of Nicholasville Road and Southland Drive, according to officials. They report it happened just 10 minutes after the first incident.
A male suspect with a handgun demanded money from the clerk, police say. They say the suspect was then struck from behind and fled the scene, empty-handed.
Investigators are reviewing camera footage from both gas stations.
Police say no arrests have been made.
