Lexington Police honor employees and citizens at banquet

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Police Department along with The Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association recognized and honored employees and citizens at its annual awards banquet Tuesday evening.

Officer Nichole Gibson was named 2016 Police Officer of the Year. She is a 5-year veteran of the force.

Detective William Brislin was named Detective of the Year.

Officer Benjamin Blank was named Uniformed Officer of the Year.

Julia Shaw was honored as Civilian Employee of the Year.

Sergeant Jason Yeager was named Supervisor of the Year.

Officer Thomas Richards was named Field Training Officer of the Year.

Michelle Riddle honored with Customer Service of the Year.

Career achievement awards were also handed out along with Medal of Valor, Life Saving Award, Medal of Merit and many others during the dinner and event at the Lexington Convention Center Bluegrass Ballroom downtown.
